COVID-19
The SARS-CoV-2 Vaccines
The CDC now recommends that, in most situations, Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are preferred over the J&J/Janssen vaccine for primary and booster vaccines due to the risk of serious adverse events.

The Facts
Those who are fully vaccinated with mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are 90% less likely to get infected!
Over 400 million vaccine doses have been administered in the U.S.
COVID-19 vaccines CANNOT give you COVID-19 because they do not contain a live virus.
The vaccine is being held to the same safety standards as all other vaccines.
193.6 million people are fully vaccinated in the U.S.
The vaccine was developed in a laboratory using technology that has been studied for decades.
COVID-19 is related to other coronaviruses which have been studied for years and aided in the research and development of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna...
- Are mRNA Vaccines.
- Do not interact with your DNA in any way.
- Teach cells to create a harmless piece of “spike protein,” which is found on the surface of SARS-CoV-2 and serves as an antigen to trigger an immune response. This response produces antibodies, which prevent illness if infected with the COVID-19 virus.
Johnson & Johnson's Janssen...
- Is a viral vector vaccine, using technology common to many vaccines.
- Does not cause COVID-19 and cannot give you COVID-19.
- Cannot alter you DNA in any way.
Pfizer
Booster Shots
COVID-19 booster shots are the same ingredients as the current COVID-19 vaccines.
If you received the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna Vaccine, you may get a booster shot if:
- You are 12 years or older and it’s been at least 5 months since completing the primary vaccine series.
If you are 18+ years old you can receive any COVID-19 vaccine authorized in the US. You do not have to receive the vaccines type that you originally received.
If you are 12-17 years old, you may only receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
If you received the Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen (J&J) Vaccine, you are eligible if:
- You are 18 years or older, and it’s been at least 2 months since completing the primary vaccine series.
- The CDC recommends that, in most situations, Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are preferred over the J&J/Janssen vaccine for primary and booster vaccines.
